Where can I download a free animated (moving) desktop background for Windows 7 that won't bog down my computer? I heard Windows 7 no longer supports animated desktop wallpaper, but is there a way to bypass this without too much hassle? If I don't like it, are the changes reversible (i.e. can i delete the moving wallpaper and go back to one that is stationary)? Would you recommend I do a system restore before downloading? Thanks for any advice. I have a Toshiba laptop if that's important. Thanks again. Do you also know of any reputable sites to download free screensavers, preferably aquariums?

Well, I remember when I was at work...I saw my boses laptop that had a background that had actuall moving fishes on her computer screen! where can I find a site like that? Where can I download really cool 3-D/animation desktop wallpapers safely, and most importantly, for free? I have Windows 7 and would loving to have a moving aquarium in the background. I manage the computers at my school, and i i have been asked ot lock the desktop on 5 win xp desktop machines. The principal complains the students delete the icons, change font, backgrounds. I've locked all but one. The icons can still be moved, changed, renamed, or deleted. I'm looking for a program or reg. edit. (NoSaveSettings doesnt work :( )to lock the desktop icons. Im hoping to pay $25 or less, and free would be even better. All help is weel appreiciated.

MAC HELP PLEASE HELP ME WITH MY MAC MINI I THINK ITS HACKED? Okay so i will be on my mac just surfing around and stuff and then the mouse starts moving when im not moving it. It will scroll the website and click on things and try to change my desktop background and try to open folders. I am watching it as if someone has hacked my computer from a third party and im watching them control my desktop. But also it is a MAC. so I dont know whats going on. I thought macs were problem free. Help me im freaking out. I dont want my identiy or any private stuff stolen. yeah funny with the ghost business. its not the mouse or a ghost silly people. the CURSOR on the screen moves not my actual mouse.

A mouse pointer that ripples green when clicked? The mouse when clicking a link or an icon rippled green which i find just awesome :) ...so i'm trying to see if i can get it on my PC(Vistax86) if free, or if buggy, or, diff OS altogether, or if it is too technical in installing it & is out-of-reach for the not so l337 savvy like me. Scoured the internetz plus forums on the topic & they keep giving these tutorials on default windows mouse options... if not, some gaudy custom smiley pointers bloatware-ugh. I know... what a waste of processing power for such a superficial thing... i like it though. *pouts* Saw it a week ago on a youtube vid tutorial on something that i can't recall (lesson: find something you fancy-->bookmark it right away) My memory is poor but i'll fill in as much as i can to help picture some clues for you: blues CLUEs: 1) It was definitely not a java or web browser effect with the mouse that you see these days... 2) Not sure what OS was being used so that might help insy-bit....(only familiar with Windows) 3) far fetched, but vid tutorial i think was either on how to invert colors in photoshop images/ or how to *something* on bluetooth software...but might not be both though coz i tried the former & can't remember what software i was checking out (i'll update this Question if it hits me later on) 4)Can't remember what the cursor looked like but the desktop background was black, so likely it was not a dark coloured mouse cursor. The ripples where 3" diameter, not super realistic like water or anything but rings 4-5 animated green rings moving away from the mouse pointer as the user clicked an icon or link. thats all...thanks for checking out my question. :)

FREE Photo Editor like picture it 9? My desktop has Picture it! Photo Premium 9. I love that program, it seems to be the only program that does everything I use it for. I don't just use it to edit my photos, I use it to create graphics. basically I don't have the disk and since there is no way to just transfer the program to my laptop, im out of luck. So I'll list the things I liked about PIPP9 and if anyone knows of free software like it it would help alot. 1. It allows a blank 'canvas' that can be resized in pixels, and inches. Also the dpi can be adjusted. 2. If you don't put a background on the blank canvas then its a clear background. which i use alot. 3. it has a "stack" not layers. things can be moved up and down in th stack depending on where you want them in the image. (on top of something under somthing else etc.) 4. I can open a ton of images in one workspace, and kinda of collage them all into my design or photo. Selecting and croping them or pieces of them if i want and placing them anywhere. 5. Simple User Friendly Interface!!! I have Corel Paint SHop Pro X2 Sureeee I'd love to use it....if it was freaking possible. there does that remind you of anything else? or am I gonna have to buy it again? The desktop is XP the laptop is Win 7

Computer..failure. Please help, I have no idea? I am not especially 'good' with computers. I have some knowledge, but obviously not enough. So, I'm just going to list my problems without my personal troubleshooting, and ask the good ol' community for a diagnosis..and advice as to what I should do next. My first problem was that my computer was slowing down - way, way down. As in, it would freeze in fifteen minutes on some days. I feel no output of air from the one fan on the bottom, although I always keep it uncovered. I've tried deleting programs, processes, running virus and malware scans, et cetera..I'm stumped. And my 'properties' shows that I still have over half my hard drive free. This computer is three to four years old...and for the past year or two, the battery has held -zero- charge. So...whenever I would turn the computer just the right way, it would turn off, despite it being plugged in. Recently, the last two lights have begun blinking red and green..and it would shut off if you even slightly moved it. Now..it's started shutting off randomly. Screen goes black, then it dies. The fan is still running...sorta. As much as it ever has. No air leaves, but it runs. It had been making a small, crunchy 'whirring' noise. Also, the desktop background has been gray and missing a chunk of the background since I came down with some awful virus years ago, despite having gotten it off of my computer. I'm trying to be brief in case it shuts down again..what should I do? It's old and partially broken. Replace? Repair? need more details? What? Forgot to mention. Yeah, I've heard Macbooks are "worth" the investment, but I simply can't afford that right now, and as soon as this one won't even turn on it will need to be replaced -immediately-. No time to save 1000 bucks or more. Also..this is a Dell..and I really don't like Dells. I'm thinking a Toshiba. But thank you all for your advice...I figured it would be cheaper to replace the old thing..I was just hoping there might be some way to postpone it so I could save a little more and afford the computer I want.:(

Why are Rockstar so biased against Unix like or Linux and towards Microsoft. Especially with eunux.net? Heres a few mistruths from eunix.net on GTAIV corrected. "Why can't you play any games on Eunux?" Do they not realise they're own game runs on the PS3, which runs Linux. ID the creators of the first FPS Wolfenstein (new one coming out at "http://www.idsoftware.com" ;-)) and doom create games for Linux along with unreal tournament usually with far higher multiplayer number capabilities than windows variants. Linux can also run windows games via Cedega, though M$ try hard to make it difficult, thankfully Nvidia are not as biased as rockstar. "Why is everything on Eunix so ugly?" In my opinion kde4 Linux systems (like Kubuntu) look far better and far more functional than vista and so does another Unix fork (from FreeBSD) MAC OS. Gnome (Ubuntu) can be made to look better than vista with a bit of work. "Why can't Eunux create a decent file manger? But you can see our source code does that mean nothing to you" The Konqueror file manager is far better than explorer in features and usability, with brilliant plugins like visual file view and if it crashes it won't bring the whole shell down and reload itself possibly doing untold damage and giving opportunities to viral nasties. (ever seen your desktop go blank for a second, or advice to remove icons from the desktop). Apples Safari and Google Chrome are based on Konqueror. "Why is eunux so much slower than to$$ os? guess you're one of those RAM is always half-empty' people. It's free Get over It" Actually Vista used a disk caching system after it had been used in Linux for years and uses a page file persistently and forcibly which stems from the days of lack of ram and considering Unix runs well on a far higher range of slower hardware, must be more efficient. Why is the Linux kernel so bloated? It isn't and it can be reduced to 8KB whereas to$$ were amased when they got there's below three MB. Linux also won't BSOD when you move your hdd to a new computer although you won't need a new one so often unless you want to because it'll keep chugging along, at a good speed dependent on your applications and not background tasks or left behind rubbish. In conclusion: Eunux.net is an unbalanced disgrace. I have a sense of humour and if I didn't know so much about operating systems then it might be funny. However as comedians know, what is really funny is the truth, and eunex.net is so far from the truth, it makes you wonder if it had anything to do with the millions from microsoft for lost damned or just unknowledgeable developers. Who made a game which I returned as the mouse only worked on the menu, on a fresh install with windows live disabled, how ironic and the control input system was geared towards xbox360 pads and analog sticks when I prefer the dpad for driving and keyboard and mouse for running, it should be MY choice shouldn't it. I could go on and on about the many lies and come up with truthfully funny quims about windows, but they're not worth it, this is here for you and to point out and then see what people think or know about why rockstar would be so imbalanced. I've played and bought all of rockstar games for pc (gtaIV returned), but I won't BUY another. People who run the game r meant to have Windows & so r more likely 2 find truthful anicdotes about Windows funny. for example (cut) circulated by ex CEO of IBM At COMDEX, B. Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated "If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25 cars that got 1000mi/gal." General Motors addressed this comment by saying "Yes but would you want a car that crashed twice a day?" 1. Every time they re-painted the lines on the road you would have to buy a new car. 2. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, faster and easier to use but only ran on 5% of the roads. 3. Oil gas & alternator lights would be replaced with a general fault light. 4. New seats would force everyone to have the same size butt. 5. The airbag system would say, Are you sure? before going off I'd expect them to joke about windows so the question is, Why not, lawyers? Apple have many lawyers?
